HELP - My email address is being closed down!
Email is an essential tool for modern life, for individuals it is vital for communicating with friends and family and accessing online services. For a business it is the lifeblood of communications with customers, staff and suppliers.
Many people have used 'Free' email accounts from the likes of freeserve, Wanadoo, Orange and other internet service providers (ISPs). In most cases the email address was provided as an adjunct to a dial up or ADSL subscription and usually had the effect of tying people into that provider due to the time and effort involved in changing email address.
Now many ISPs are closing the 'Free' email accounts they have provided, sometimes with only a few weeks notice of closure - most contracts state a 30 day notice period.
In many cases those of you with these accounts have held them for many years, are not necessarily computer experts and fear you will struggle to set up a new account and transfer emails across.
This is an opportunity to break free of being tied to ANY email provider and, as you are going to have to change email address in any case, to change to an email address you own and never need to change again.
